Citing Iranica

The Encyclopaedia Iranica publishes entries both in print and digital formats. The printed volumes are published in alphabetical order, while articles commissioned out of alphabetical turn are published online.

* While all the entries published in print are available in digital format and accessible on this website, a substantial number of articles have only been published in digital format and have yet to be committed to print. These articles may be accessed exclusively on this website and should be cited as follows:

AUTHOR NAME, “NAME OF ARTICLE NAME,” Encyclopaedia Iranica, Online Edition, DATE OF PUBLICATION, available at WEB ADDRESS OF THE ARTICLE.

The publication date of entries that have been posted online, but not committed to print, may be found at the bottom of the article text.
