Iran Heritage Foundation Lector in Persian

The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint the Iran Heritage Foundation Lector in Persian Language in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies, to begin on October 1, 2014. The post is a fixed-term one-year appointment, and is made possible by generous grants from the Iran Heritage Foundation and the Isaac Newton Trust.

The successful candidate will teach Persian language at all levels and will be responsible for designing and organizing the teaching programme for all three years of the undergraduate course. It is expected that the successful candidate will have native command of spoken and written Persian with native or near native command of both spoken and written English. Candidates should have experience teaching Persian language, ideally within higher education, and preferably as a foreign language, and ideally will be expected to have a degree in a relevant area of Persian language or linguistics, preferably at postgraduate level.
