Guitty Azarpay
(1934-2024), Professor Emerita of Art History at the University of California, Berkeley, and a leading scholar of Iranian and Central Asian art. Among her major works are Urartian Art & Artifacts (1968) and Sogdian Painting: The Pictorial Epic in Oriental Art (1981). Following her retirement, she endowed the Azarpay Distinguished Visitorship to support the study of the arts of Iran and Central Asia.
