Razieh Taasob


Razieh Taasob

(1981–Present) Numismatist and archaeologist specializing in the coinages of the Indo-Iranian borderlands, with a focus on typology, linguistic and religious representation, monetary practices, and the economic and cultural dynamics of cross-regional exchange in the Arsacid and Kushan worlds. She received her PhD from the University of Vienna and has held positions at Princeton University, the University of Freiburg, and Charles University, where she worked on coin collections, contributed to digital humanities initiatives and conducted research within an ERC-funded project on Silk Roads economic networks, focusing on Arsacid and Kushan economic practices, alongside archaeological fieldwork in Iran and Uzbekistan and engagement with the UNESCO Silk Roads World Heritage Nomination process.
