Call for Papers for a workshop on ''Ālimahs, Muhaddithahs, and Mujtahidahs': The Past and Present of Female Religious Authority in Shi'i Islam

Conveners: Mirjam Künkler (Princeton University, USA) and Keiko Sakurai (Waseda University, Japan)

Princeton University's Center for the Study of Religion, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, and the National Institutes for the Humanities of Japan invites paper proposals that focus on Shi'ite female religious authority across any time period. The workshop has the aim of taking stock of the research developments in this field and establishing a research network of those scholars working on the issue in diverse geographic environments and across various time frames.
