The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts invites you to take part in the "Reading memory Vladimir F. Minorsky (1877-1966). Historiography of the countries of the Middle East" conference which will take place on October 8-9, 2013.
The aim of the conference is to discuss the problems of Oriental Studies, within the interests of the outstanding Russian orientalist Vladimir Fedorovich Minorsky: history, historical geography, literature and culture of Persia and the countries of the Caucasus. For a discussion of the following topics are also available: Conference panels:
• The scientific legacy of V.F. Minorsky.
• Archive of V.F. Minorsky.
• Proceedings of the V.F. Minorsky on Islamic studies.
Conference venue: St. Petersburg, Dvortsovaya Embankment, 18. Novo-Mikhailovsky Palace (The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences). Working languages of the Conference: Russian, Persian and English.
Abstracts (5,000 characters=600 words) should be submitted by September 22, 2013 (e-mail vodneva@orientalstudies.ru) as an attachment in MS Word 1997-2003 format. The application must include: author information (full name, work place, position, scientific degree and a rank, phone and e-mail for communication, the report name).
The book of Abstracts will be published prior to the Conference and distributed at the time of registration.
