ENQELĀB-E ESLĀMĪ NEWSPAPER

 

ENQELĀB-EESLĀMĪ, a newspaper published by Abu’l-Ḥasan Banī-Ṣadr and supporting his political views. It was published in three runs. 1. A daily general newspaper published in Tehran from 29 Ḵordād 1358 Š./19 June 1979 to 17 Ḵordād 1360 Š./7 June 1981. The editor for the first half year was ʿAlī-Reżā Nowbarī. After Banī-Ṣadr was elected president of the Islamic Republic, Moḥammad Jaʿfarī and Jamāl-al-Dīn Mūsawī became managing editor and editor, respectively. With Banī-Ṣadr’s fall from power, the newspaper ceased publication. Each issue usually had 12 five-column pages, 32 x 48.5 cm; it later changed to 46 x 58 cm in eight columns. It was priced 15 rials. 2. A photocopied newspaper published in Paris by the Majmaʿ-e eslāmī-e dānešjūyān-e īrānī dar Farānsa (Islamic association of Iranian students in France), seventeen issues of which were published between 30 Ḵordād and 18 Mehr 1360 Š./20 June-10 October 1981. Its full title was Esteqlāl bejā-ye Enqelāb-e eslāmī. The names of the editors are not known. Its format was ten double-column pages, 21 x 29.5 cm. 3. A bi-weekly newspaper edited in Versailles, France, and printed in Frankfurt. First published on 5 Ābān 1360/27 October 1981, it had the full title Enqelāb-e eslāmī dar hejrat. Its format is twelve four-column pages, initially 30.5 x 42 cm, but later 28.5 x 39.5 cm. It was priced 2 German marks.
